Ditch The Single-Use Plastics for July

It's time to ask yourself, why would you use something that you're going to use for a few minutes and then throw away straight away, leaving it on the planet forever?

Take a minute to watch Lucy Biggers on her 30 days without plastic.

Get Inspired at PlasticFreeJuly.org

"Plastic Free July is a global movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution - so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities. Will you be part of Plastic Free July by choosing to refuse single-use plastics?"

Here are some of the most common single-use plastics that we can avoid in the month of July:

Plastic Bags Plastic Beverage / Water Bottles & Containers Straws Disposable Coffee Cups (most of them have plastic liners)

Every year more than 380 million tonnes of plastic is produced.

Since 1950 only 9 percent of the total plastic produced has been recycled. The rest has gone to landfill, incineration and lots has ended up in the environment or ocean.
